My experience:
My career started with my study, where I completed my Bachelor of Psychological Science (honours).
Whilst studying I worked part-time as an Educator and Sports Coach for school children. During this period, I was able to get hands-on experience working with children with disabilities, which ignited my interest in the field.
I continued my journey as a Support Worker, where I supported people living with a disability and mental illnesses for 3 years. This experience has helped me bring passion and understanding to my current role.
What inspired me to do what I do…
From a young age, I found that my empathy, insight, and amiability can help me connect with others. I find it gratifying to help others overcome difficulties, gain insight into their situations, and to cope better
Areas of expertise/interest:
The most rewarding part of my role is…
Seeing the improvement in my clients’ moods and experiences. As the behaviour of concern and restrictive practice decrease, the individual can begin to heal and build healthy relationships with their support circle.
What I do in my spare time:
Outside of my role I love playing basketball with both my district and church teams.
